| The strap operator is comprised of a nylon strap that is fed
from the pulley inside the shutter box, through the wall, over a pulley to
a strap re-coiler attached to the wall.
1. Drill a ¼ inch pilot hole, and a ¾ inch hole for operating
strap through the wall from outside of the house.
2. Clean the hole inside and out and remove any loose
pieces of debris. Only if you are installing on a masonry structure,
insert a plastic tube and spring coils to avoid fraying of the operating
strap.
3. Cover the above-mentioned ¾ inch hole with pulley, see
figure, after you have fed the operating strap through.
Note: The operator strap must
not be twisted!
4. Feed operating strap into strap box. Attach the end of strap
to lug on inner rim of wheel. Remove axle by loosing screws and feed
through slot in wheel then affix a knot (see figure) replace the axle and
affix screws.
5. Mount straps box approximately 3 feet above the floor,
ensuring that the operating strap is vertical.
